Appropriate content for opsview-users mailing list

The opsview-users list can be used for the following topics:

  • General questions not already answered on website
  • Reporting of potential bugs with software, so we can investigate
  • Getting help with installation and initial setup issues
  • Posting feedback, suggestions and documentation requests
  • Answering questions raised by other people

Questions posted to the list will be answered by Opsview / Altinity staff but this will be on a best endeavours basis only.

Please *do not* contact people directly via email with support queries. By allowing us to answer your questions on the list you are helping other subscribers by sharing information.

Occasionally we may politely decline to answer questions about monitoring of specific environments. This includes troubleshooting SNMP rules, diagnosing distributed monitoring issues and making third-party plugins work. These queries can be very time consuming to answer and overlap with consulting services provided by Altinity and partners. We all need to eat, sleep and pay the bills :)
