Sometimes, you don't want to see everything. Hostgroup Hierarchy is great for a single view showing every service you have, but maybe you only want detail on a few items.

This is where Viewports comes in. Viewports is a status screen that only shows the detail of a few crucial services.

To configure, you use Keywords. Keywords is like meta data for your hosts and services and is used to choose a smaller set of items to view. Then in the Keywords section on the left hand navigation, you can enable the viewport.

This enables a URL which looks like this.

You can group the items by host or by service. If you group by host, the host status and service status is as expected. If you group by service, then the service state is the worst state failure of all the hosts - this is useful for clustered services.
